KIFA is organizing farmers locally and bringing their problems before the attention of authorities and the general public at large.
Protective steps will be initiated by KIFA whenever farmers are made victims of high handed illegal and unfair actions by apathetic officials, especially from the forest department.
KIFA mobilized farmers in protest at Plamala in connection with the widespread destruction of cardamom plants headed by some notorious forest officials.
To stop such atrocities against farmers and to put up pressure to prevent further free ride of the raiding parties, KIFA is taking appropriate action including bringing the culprits to court and making them accountable for the losses they have caused to farmers.
A farmer resistance gesture named “ karshaka Prathirodha Sadass’ was organized at Kelakam, Kannur, to highlight atrocities faced by farmers in those areas. The illegal action against an ex- serviceman farmer, Prince Devasia, in connection with fishing in the local stream resulted in a huge outcry against it at the meeting.
Another meet was held at Thiruvambady too, to stop the illegal land grab executed by the forest department despite the farmers there having all legal rights to their property.
